Destiny Marshall · a fictional night, real music
Every naira
has a story.
This is one of them: an independent artist in Lagos drops a single, sells out a show, and wakes up paid. Set to my own music😜.

The songs have travelled through headphones and group chats. Tonight, let’s put those fans in the same room. One link for the tickets, the merch, and the next recording session.

The fans are everywhere. So is the checkout.

05 Liner notes
My concept. My music. Here’s how I brought it to the web.
Side A Design decisions
- 01Small beginnings
I release music as Destiny Marshall. This fictional show brings the online community into one room, with the next recording session as its goal.
- 02One link, one terminal, one payout
Three real Paystack surfaces (Payment Pages, international checkout, Terminal), told in the order an artist meets them.
- 03Sound is the spine
The waveform is the horizon, and the payments land on the beat. Without sound, a silent metronome keeps the rhythm.
- 04You’re in the ledger
Anything you pay along the way is counted in the morning payout.
Side B Motion
- 01Beat-synced, not timeline-synced
An audio engine emits beat events. Scenes subscribe to them, so the visuals stay locked to the music.
- 02Scroll as the clock
The morning-after scene uses scroll as time: 2:14 AM to 7:02 AM, night sky to sunrise, with the music fading into the background.
- 03Physical where it counts
The terminal tilts toward your pointer, the card drags, the receipt prints. Everything else stays calm.
- 04Reduced motion respected
With prefers-reduced-motion, tilt, drift and the live waveform switch off. The story still reads.
Bonus Where AI helped
- 01Exploration with Claude
Used for scaffolding, helped develop the narrative based on my concepts, including the audio fallback, and quick iterations on scene logic.
- 02My music onboard
I brought my recordings and artist archive, chose this direction, and shaped the story around the connection between making music and getting paid.
- 03Refinement with Codex
Codex helped integrate creayted assets, refine the copy, and improve replay, keyboard access, reduced motion, and responsive behaviour.
